On Thursday 9th August, myself and the lovely Mary from Mary Me Bridal Blog rattled along miles of back roads to the beautiful Markree Castle in Sligo. I think we counted passing through at least 7 counties that morning, but this was a wedding we were both delighted to be part of!
When I first met Therese and her lovely mum Breige at the bridal trial, they couldn’t wait for the wedding! As the first in the family to take the leap there was a mixture of excitement, nerves and anticipation. I think we talked and laughed for a good 3 hours that day and their eagerness and enthusiasm for this wedding soon had me in the same frame of mind!
If you have ever been to Markree Castle, you will know that it is an authentic and historic Irish castle recently reopened after extensive renovations. As a sister castle of Bellingham and Cabra Castle, Markree Castle counts Johnny Cash and June Carter amongst its famous visitors.
Therese’s wedding morning went along without a hitch. Myself and Mary had so much fun getting these girls ready, and Therese had us well entertained with all the stories of her engagement to Stephen.
Have a look at the fabulous photography by Calvin Craig below, and you will see what a stunning wedding I was lucky to be part of. Steph and Matt from This Old Home made their mark throughout the castle with their unique and creative flair in styling. Therese’s bridal gown and from the lovely girls at Marie Me Bridal in Randalstown. The off shoulder lace gown was elegant and classic which complimented Therese’s hair (as styled by Marie McDonagh Irvinestown) and makeup. Bridesmaid’s dresses were a dove grey full length from ASOS and stunning flowers by Forget Me Knot Floristry. Capture Video were also in duty to capture all the motion and emotion of the day.
It was an absolute pleasure to be part of your wedding day Therese. Best wishes to you and Stephen!
Love, Sinead x
